Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Designer to join our dynamic team, focusing on our financial wellness product offering, Trim by OneMain. You will play a crucial role in shaping the customer experience of our products, ensuring they are intuitive, engaging, and effective in helping our users achieve their financial wellness goals. Your work will directly improve the financial health of millions of people across the country. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product design, research, and financial services, will be highly motivated, reliable, detailed, and driven to produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire role. Open to remote candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
User Research & Insights:
Conduct user research to understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of our target audience.
Translate research findings into actionable insights that drive experience decisions.
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define user personas and journeys.
Create and own user flows and customer journeys to map out user interactions with our products and identify opportunities for improvement.
Product Design:
Create experience solutions that are data driven, considering user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
Lead the design process from concept to final implementation, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience.
Work collaboratively with others on your team to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma.
Design user interfaces that are visually appealing, intuitive, and aligned with our brand guidelines.
Collaboration & Communication:
Facilitate design process by fostering a highly collaborative and engaging team environment.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and marketing to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
Present design concepts and iterate based on feedback from stakeholders and users.
Advocate for the user and ensure that user-centered design principles are adhered to throughout the product development process.
Usability Testing & Iteration:
Plan and conduct usability tests to gather feedback on design prototypes.
Analyze test results and iterate on designs to improve the user experience.
Ensure that designs are optimized for accessibility and inclusivity.
Work closely with the Engineering team throughout QA phase.
Time Management & Accountability:
Work with Product partners and your manager to create reasonable timelines.
Manage your own work and timelines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality design.
Prioritize tasks effectively, balancing short-term needs and long-term goals.
Communicate progress and any potential delays in timely manner.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
8+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on financial services or wellness products.
Proven track record of designing successful digital products from concept to launch for native app and web.
Strong proficiency with design and prototyping software Figma & Miro.
Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
Ability to rapidly iterate and produce multiple concepts and solutions.
Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research.
Strong understanding of information hierarchy and typography.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex design challenges.
Experience in fast paced environment, small team / startup.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with Angular Ionic.
