User Experience Researcher (Senior/Principal) Locations: Boston, MA; Merrimack, NH; Smithfield, RI Time Type: Full Time Posted on: Posted 2 Days Ago Job Requisition ID: 2101629 Job Description: User Experience Researcher The Role Fidelity Investments is looking for a User Experience Researcher with an operations focus who is passionate about their craft and improving employee digital experiences. As a member of the Digital Workplace Experience Chapter Area, you will keep the end user at the center of everything we do, ensuring we are delivering world-class digital end-to-end experiences for our associates and customers. The Expertise and Skills You Bring 5-8 years of UX or related experience is preferred. A degree in a related field such as Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience, Usability Engineering, Experimental Psychology, or equivalent education and related training/certification. Experience working on agile teams delivering value in digital products preferred. Financial or similar industry experience desired. Experience with user-centered design research methodologies and rapid ideation processes such as Lean XD, Design Sprints, and Agile methodologies. Experience with UXops preferred. Skills Deep familiarity with executing a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, task analysis, contextual inquiries, ethnographic studies, and card sorting. Ability to craft, evaluate, and evolve user models (personas, scenarios, profiles). Ability to perform heuristic evaluation, accessibility reviews, and testing of applications and make concrete recommendations for improving their usability. Effective communication as a writer, presenter, and facilitator; equally at ease speaking with developer partners or executives. Creates and develops post-project executive summaries, retrospectives, and project follow-ups. A foundation of development knowledge, both web and mobile. Partnering with other user researchers and designers to understand the customer problems to tackle. Distilling qualitative and quantitative feedback to unearth recurring themes and promote data-driven design decisions. An unwavering curiosity to ask why. Knowledge of change management preferred. UX Researchers typically: Lead definition of the research work and deliver business outcomes across multiple product teams, with minimal guidance and coaching. Plan, execute, and analyze user research studies with the ability to flexibly scale them across desktop and mobile devices. Collaborate with stakeholders to define & refine research objectives and ensure alignment with strategic, business, and user goals. Work closely with UX strategists, designers, and fellow researchers to provide research expertise and support during workshops and ongoing UX activities. Interpret qualitative and quantitative data from web analytics, user research data, trends, and patterns to create actionable recommendations at project and portfolio level. Provide rapid prototyping support to communicate concepts/design recommendations based on research conducted. Synthesize research data, summarize findings & present results to management and project teams for both strategic and project level insight. Partner with the product owner to help inform product strategy. Work across the organization to drive consistent customer experiences. Contribute to the culture of the Digital Workplace Experience Chapter Area (user research & UXD). Provide research and product thought leadership. Manage administrative responsibilities on UXR tools/platforms including Qualtrics, SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, Dovetail, and others. Support UX team needs including participant management, data storage, privacy and legal standards, research template library, and upskilling.
