Job Description:
User Experience Researcher
The Role\u202F Fidelity Investments is looking for a User Experience Researcher with an operations focus who is passionate about their craft and improving employee digital experiences. As a member of the Digital Workplace Experience Chapter Area, you will keep the end user at the center of everything we do, ensuring we are delivering world-class digital end-to-end experiences for our associates and customers.\u202F You will sit with other designers and user researchers within the Digital Workplace Experience Chapter Area and be aligned to an interdisciplinary squad.\u202F\u202F\u202F \u202F The Expertise and Skills You Bring\u202F\u202F \u202F Experience\u202F 5-8 -years of UX or related experience is preferred\u202F
A degree in a related field such as in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience, Usability Engineering, Experimental Psychology or related field, or equivalent education and related training / certification\u202F
Experience working on agile teams delivering value in digital products preferred\u202F
Financial or similar industry experience desired.\u202F
Experience with user-centered design research methodologies and rapid ideation processes such as Lean XD, Design Sprints and Agile methodologies.\u202F
Experience with UXops preferred
\u202F Skills\u202F Deep familiarity with executing a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, task analysis, contextual inquires, ethnographic studies, & card sorting.\u202F\u202F
Ability to craft, evaluate and evolve user models (personas, scenarios, profiles).\u202F\u202F
Ability to perform heuristic evaluation, accessibility reviews and testing of applications and make concrete recommendations for improving their usability.\u202F\u202F
Effective communication as a writer, presenter, and facilitator; equally at ease speaking with developer partners or executives\u202F
Creates and develops post project executive summaries, retrospectives and project follow-ups\u202F
A foundation of development knowledge, both web and mobile\u202F
Partnering with other user researchers and designers to understand the customer problems to tackle\u202F
Distilling qualitative and quantitative feedback to unearth recurring themes and promote data-driven design decisions\u202F
An unwavering curiosity to ask why\u202F
Knowledge of change management preferred
\u202F UX Researchers typically:\u202F Lead definition of the research work and deliver business outcomes across multiple product teams, with minimal guidance and coaching\u202F\u202F
Plan, execute and analyze user research studies with the ability to flexibly scale them across desktop and mobile devices.\u202F\u202F
Collaborate with stakeholders to define & refine research objectives and ensure alignment with strategic, business and user goals.\u202F\u202F
Work closely with UX strategists, designers and fellow researchers to provide research expertise and support during workshops and ongoing UX activities.\u202F\u202F
Interpret qualitative and quantitative data from web analytics, user research data, trends and patterns to create actionable recommendations at project and portfolio level.\u202F\u202F
Provide rapid prototyping support to communicate concepts/designs recommendations based on research conducted.\u202F\u202F
Synthesize research data, summarize findings & present results to management and project teams for both strategic and project level insight.\u202F
Partner with the product owner to help inform product strategy\u202F
Work across the organization to drive consistent customer experiences\u202F
Contribute to the culture of the Digital Workplace Experience Chapter Area (user research & UXD)\u202F
Provide research and product thought leadership
Manages administrative responsibilities on UXR tools/platforms including Qualtrics, SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, Dovetail and others.
Supports UX team needs including participant management, data storage, privacy and legal standards, research template library and upskilling.
