The Administrative Services Center (ASC) is a deliverable of the AdminX initiative. The ASC partners with local and central units to provide efficient and consistent support for administrative operations across the Institute.
The ASC will serve as the front door for all HR inquiries and transaction initiation.

Job Summary

Responsible for managing the installation of audio visual (AV) systems to comply with project specifications and Institute standards, and to ensure that a completed system is delivered to the customer. Assignments are typically complex, large scale projects, (Classrooms, Conference rooms, Auditoriums and Labs) related to design/project management of AV technology solutions in new building construction or building space renovation projects. Manage multiple project schedules and necessary resources, including but not limited to: AV installation technicians, control systems programmers, engineers, and contracted vendors/contractors. Coordinate the work per the project design AV specification and product procurement in order to ensure compliance with design standards, support requirements and the Institute mission. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: AV Support teams, project team members, department heads and managers within OIT and other academic and business offices across campus; contractors and consultants. This position typically will advise and counsel: principal, lead project managers, department heads, facilities and CPSM. This position will supervise: NA (project/program leadership only).

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Supervise personnel and activities related to the audio visual design on project site.

Job Duty 2 -
Work with the customer to acquire a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives including, but not limited to: contractual, financial, technical, schedule, construction coordination, materials, personnel, and scope of work. Work with departments to obtain and read all contract documents including, but not limited to: bid drawings and specifications, contract, project workbook, subcontractor scopes of work, and construction schedule. Development of designs that meet end-client functional and budgetary requirements. Creating functional and connection-level drawings/design for video, audio, control, LAN and communications subsystems, including preparation of drawings and documentation.

Job Duty 3 -
Participate or facilitate internal project kick-off meeting with key participants, including the customer, engineers, installation teams and other applicable personnel.

Job Duty 4 -
Coordinate all activities associated with audio visual project execution, including but not limited to: submittals, audio visual design engineering, installation, and programming, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.

Job Duty 5 -
Create and manage the schedule for all assigned projects and provide those schedules to management. Coordinate activities with general contractor, construction manager, owner and other trades as required, as it is related to audio visual designs. Provide regular reports of job progress to all stakeholders. Assist with, or facilitate, the ordering of materials upon approval of design-build projects.

Job Duty 6 -
Manage and monitor the labor expenditures of integration and installation personnel over the course of the project and communicate (upward) any issues that impact the budget allocation.

Job Duty 7 -
Work with approved vendors and qualified subcontractors to solicit quotes that will meet the design specifications, making sure to work within the policies and guidelines identified by the state of Georgia and Georgia Institute of Technology.

Job Duty 8 -
Generate and/or respond to construction communications including, but not limited to: requests for information, any and all design documentation, change order documents, room readiness reports, or any delays which could impact completion date. This would also include punch-list items, field reports, sign-off documents or other supporting documentation.

Job Duty 9 -
Proactively manage the change order process, when a change in approved design is necessary. Regularly inspect installation work performed by staff and/or subcontractors. Test, or certify the performance of, installed systems and coordinate turn-over of project to the Audio Visual Support group at the end of each project, prior to coordinating and/or providing training to client.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Six to eight years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP), CTS-Design, CTS-Installation, and/or other Extron certifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires advanced knowledge in engineering design and project management as related to audio visual solutions. Advanced skills in design, installation of electronic equipment; preparing and reading blueprints, drawings and schematics and electronics assembly and soldering techniques are required. Ability to provide work guidance to others is also required. Exemplify exceptional communication, organization and leadership skills with strong experience in the integration of audio visual, video conferencing and closely related technologies.
