Summary:
A member of the corporate communications team, this position develops strategic communication solutions to problems and situations of unusual complexity. Through communicating with all stakeholders, including through all internal communications channels, clinical and corporate employees, leaders, local community, patients/families, etc., this position is responsible for driving understanding and advocacy of organization's business strategies. Uses a high level of judgment, critical thinking and decision-making ability to direct work and deliverables and to solve for unique challenges. This role leads various enterprise/system communications plans and/or Market communications strategies and programs, working collaboratively with HR Communications and External / Reputation teams. This individual must bring a passion for health care and the Children's Health mission to make life better for children. The individual filling this role should thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and constantly changing environment with the ability to quickly digest complex information and determine a plan of action, while serving at times as a key advisor to various members of the leadership team.

"While the position is primarily remote, occasional in-person meetings will require your attendance and on-site support.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicates health system mission/vision, key messages and positioning to achieve business objectives. Must possess superior project management skills and written communication ability for traditional and emerging communication channels. Translates/communicates complex medical and corporate jargon into easily understandable terms for target audiences.
  • Leads communications plans, including the strategy and development of content, for growth and expansion initiatives.
  • Provides communications counsel to Market teams and/or corporate services teams.
  • Story mines and collaborates with External Communications for media relations and social media planning.
  • Ensures that projects are completed with high quality, on time and on budget and that deliverables are effective with internal partners and for the organization while also being progressive.
  • Develops strategic communication plans for initiatives, issues and events with high complexity that affect employees and stakeholders. Effective plans will include situation analysis, objectives, strategies, messages to be conveyed, target audiences, vehicles for messages and methodology for measurement of success of communication. Conducts an ongoing assessment of communication needs
  • Builds strong, effective relationships with peers, vendors and internal partners in a manner that represents Children's Health positively and fosters collaboration in order to gain the necessary depth required to deliver effective communications.
  • Assists corporate communications director with projects as requested.

How You'll Be Successful:

WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 7 years previous work experience in internal, employee or corporate, non-profit or agency communications positions and excellent writing skills Req

EDUCATION
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Req
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, English or related field Pref
