ROLE : FOX 5 San Diego/KUSI News duopoly is seeking an experienced Anchor/Reporter to support our growing team. Successful candidate excels in ad-libbing, storytelling on all platforms, connecting with viewers, can receive feedback and models professionalism on and off the air. RESPONSIBILITIES: Accurate reporting of news stories Attend editorial meetings and regularly pitch original story ideas Develops community contacts and a network of news sources Must be able to ad-lib live breaking news by telling a compelling story Works with photographer, producers, desk in the development of a story Regularly updates newsroom on story elements and progress Uses social media to update news stories to the public Attend station partnerships in the community Anchor weekend newscasts and specials produced by the station Regularly write and proofread stories on assigned broadcasts EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: B.A. or B.S. Degree preferably in journalism or communication Previous TV anchoring and reporting experience strongly preferred REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Must interact positively and productively with employees in the field and in studio Uphold station values and models professionalism on and off the air Strong on-air presentation – must be credible, personable and engaging Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills Strong attention to detail Must be able to accept constructive direction and feedback In line with reporting duties, individual must be flexible with schedule and be willing to work additional hours or days or different shifts and holidays as required by news content Positive, solution-oriented attitude and team player Can perform duties and make decisions under extreme pressure Starting $45.70/hr commensurate with experience and skill level. #LI-Onsite #J-18808-Ljbffr
