We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Head of Alternatives Marketing to join our Segment Marketing team. This role is located in New York City (Hybrid).
The Head of Alternatives Marketing is a senior leader responsible for driving strategic marketing initiatives within the alternatives segment. This role is crucial for positioning the firm as a leader in alternatives, which includes private equity, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, and other non-traditional investment strategies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the alternatives space, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in developing and executing targeted marketing strategies that drive growth, client acquisition, and retention.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Strategic Marketing Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy for the alternatives segment, aligning with the firm’s overall business goals
- Collaborate with executive leadership, product, sales, and investment teams to develop a unified go-to-market approach
- Client Acquisition & Retention
- Lead the development of tailored messaging and value propositions that resonate with both GPs and LPs in alternatives
- Measure and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and optimize ROI
- Brand Positioning & Thought Leadership
- Establish and enhance the firm’s brand presence in the alternatives market, building credibility and awareness, including white papers, webinars, industry reports, and case studies, that position the firm as a thought leader
- Cultivate relationships with industry organizations, publications, and conferences to showcase the firm’s expertise
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- 15+ years of client and/product marketing
- Experience with B2B and B2B2C marketing programs
- Highly analytical mindset and attention to key metrics
- Ability to run experiments and continuous testing in order to optimize performance
- Agile approach to growth marketing and the ability to punch through ambiguity
- Overall track record of professional and academic success
- Experience in building, leading and motivating teams while collaborating in a matrixed organization

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $125,000 and $273,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
