An entry-level position providing hands-on experience in collegiate summer baseball. Join the Lakeshore Chinooks for the summer to gain a behind-the-scenes experience like no other. You'll learn the ins and outs of a sports organization within the Northwoods League. This is a non-paid, for college credit or work experience position.

The Journalism & Media Relations Intern will assist in providing content for the team, game-day programs and various local media outlets. This intern will work to promote our team to the public while exemplifying professionalism and the willingness to grow the Chinooks' media presence.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Journalism coverage for all regular season home games, including writing game recaps and Chinooks-related editorials
  • Responsible for creating external communication deliverables, including digital editorialcontent, press releases and media advisories
  • Assist in drafting, preparation, and organization of team press releases
  • Required to follow Chinooks away games via in-person, internet, or radio and post gameresults on team's website and social media platforms
  • Assist in creating and implementing content for team's website and social mediaplatforms
  • Facilitate interviews with Field Manager and players after each game
  • Issue all media credentials for various members of the print, television and radio mediamembers
  • All other duties as assigned


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Quality and accuracy of work
  • Must be available for all Chinooks home games (which include weeknights, weekends, and someholidays)
  • Must be available for any Chinooks related special events
  • Completion of assigned tasks on schedule
  • Cooperation, responsiveness, dependability, and proper attitude in dealing with others including co-workers and customers
  • Conformance to company personnel, safety, quality, and housekeeping policies, procedures, andpractices
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a current student (undergraduate or graduate)
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels within the organization as well as outside contacts
  • Strong time management and attention to detail
