Mujin is seeking an experienced technical writer to join our dynamic product team. As a technical writer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for the installation, configuration, and operation of our advanced robotic systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with various departments, addressing complex technical challenges to deliver innovative solutions. As a Technical Writer, you will leverage your expertise to positively impact the success of our organization and our customers.
The anticipated duration of the contract is expected to be a minimum of 6 months. The individual in this role will work cross-functionally amongst the engineering team and will be expected to meet with the engineers in Suwanee, GA. for the duration of the contract.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and organization of our internal documentation library, establishing a robust information architecture
- Transform internal documentation into user-friendly materials for our integrator partners
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to update and enhance our core documentation, including manuals, release notes, and API development resources
- Proactively gather product information from business and technical stakeholders through research, experimentation, and interviews
- Ensure alignment of documentation with other communication efforts, such as training, support, solutions design, sales, and marketing
- Contribute to the formulation and execution of the company's documentation strategy
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, communications, or a related field that provides a foundation for success as a technical writer
- Minimum of two years of experience in technical writing or a related field
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Proven ability to interview engineers and extract detailed technical information
- Demonstrated capacity to quickly assimilate new technical concepts
- Experience in documenting complex software systems
- A user-centric approach to creating documentation
- Proven track record of developing documentation from the ground up for major products or initiatives
- Proficiency in creating task-focused, modular technical publications
- Familiarity with Confluence, Microsoft Suite, Adobe
- Experience working in the automation or robotics industry
- Experience with hardware and software documentation
- Python experience
- Familiarity with translation/localization/internationalization processes
- Interest in advancing user-centered product design as a company strategy
