This is an hourly, at-will non-benefited position working a varied schedule of approximately 19 hours per week. The Bruggemeyer Library is open Monday and Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Applicants must be available to work assigned shifts which includes nights and weekends.
The ideal candidate is:
Under general supervision, this paraprofessional classification performs a range of duties including circulating library materials; conducting programs and events for all ages; assisting patrons in the use of the library and finding library materials; processing and repairing library materials; assisting with basic reference services; assisting patrons with computers and technology in the library; and assessing learners, inputting data and helping tutors and learners in the LAMP Literacy Program; performs related duties as required.

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical combination would be: graduation from high school or equivalent and one year experience in the clerical field, preferably in a library.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of clerical procedures and systems, word processing and automated library systems, practices and techniques used in library classification, interlibrary loan and reference source work, basic arithmetic and proper telephone etiquette.
Ability to operate various office equipment including typewriters, computer keyboards, copiers, laminating machines; establish and maintain effective working relationships with patrons and other staff; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; type accurately, perform cashiering work with accuracy.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
This position is required to stoop, kneel, bend or reach over one's head to pick up or move objects; stand for extended periods of time, lifts, pushes and moves objects weighing up to 50 pounds with some assistance.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

New hires candidates must show proof of full COVID vaccinations prior to being hired. Limited exemptions may apply.
