The Department of Mass Communication is looking for one to two student employees for Fall semester 2024 to staff the department’s Student Services Center, located in the Media Center basement on Towson’s campus.

Job Duties:

  • General reception (email, phone & walk-in)
  • Filing and paperwork management
  • Assistance with student equipment check-out and check-in, equipment maintenance, and inventory
  • Scheduling advising appointments
  • General office cleanup/organization as needed
  • Other tasks or projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Friendly and equipped with basic customer-service skills
  • Familiar with basic office technology and tasks (i.e. phone system, copy machine, scanner, Microsoft Office software)
  • Familiar with charging audio and video camera equipment
  • Highly reliable
  • Punctual
  • Able to quickly prioritize a series of tasks and complete them efficiently, occasionally under stressful or busy circumstances
  • Assertive and willing to help with a variety of tasks in any way that is useful
  • Optional but preferred: Familiarity with the MCOM Department classes and tracks
  • Optional but preferred: Federal Work Study award recipient

Work Hours:

  • Mondays and Wednesdays 1:00pm-4:30pm
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30am-1:00pm
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00pm-4:30pm

There may be additional hours available for assisting with departmental events, as needed.
