General Description

The Student Music Librarian/Technician will provide clerical assistance for the Music Program and upkeep in the Music Library (librarian duties) and is responsible for setup of audio equipment, maintenance, and general organization of the library, rehearsal, and studio spaces (technician duties).

Reports To: Faculty Coordinator of Music

Current Requirements: Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester OR Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  1. General Physical Requirements: Sedentary work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  2. Physical Activities: This position requires frequent movement about the classroom and communication with students, faculty, and staff.
  3. Visual Acuity: This position requires the ability to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  4. Working Conditions: This position performs essential functions in an indoor classroom or office setting.

Job Duties

The Student Music Librarian/Technician will assist the Music Program Director in the music library, rehearsal, and studio spaces. Duties include clerical tasks (filing, copying, scanning, collating) and technical responsibilities (setting up/breaking down audio equipment, organizing cables, moving microphones and other music/audio equipment). Other duties may be assigned.

Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices. Complete quarterly health and safety training. Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency drills.
