Pay Range: $1,420 - $1,700 per credit hour

Job Description: The School of Art within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach ARI 202 Second Year Studio II, a three one-credit hour workshops, during the Spring semester, 2025. This is a team-taught interdisciplinary course offering a variable theme as subject matter. This course builds on the program of study initiated in the Second Year Studio I, emphasizing increased conceptual and technical development.

Qualifications: MFA and/or equivalent

Job Specific Qualifications: Practicing artist with experience nurturing young art students with work and portfolio development.

Responsibilities: Teach a studio seminar 4.5 hours per week, responsible for grading, hold office hours. In addition:

  1. Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
  2. Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.
  3. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
  4. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
  5. Meeting all designated class periods.
  6. If you are unable to meet your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute.
  7. You must also notify the department chair of your absence and of your plan to cover the class.
  8. Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
  9. Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
  10. Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
  11. Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
