Position Title: Visual Arts Lab Assistant WS, Student

Division/Department: Visual Arts

Location: Albany Campus, Albany, OR

Job Summary: Monitors the Visual Arts Lab (IC-120) to ensure safety and security of all supplies. Assists division with clerical tasks supporting special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better, and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.
  • Requires basic office and clerical skills and familiarity with general office equipment including personal computers.
  • Requires good communication and customer relations skills, including electronic communication.

Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with department policies and procedures is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Position involves long periods sitting at a computer plus light to medium work, which includes kneeling, and carrying and lifting of light to medium weight materials (10 to 25 pounds).
  • Must be able to operate a computer and general office equipment.
  • Requires ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
  • Supports division staff with special projects related to improving common spaces and art galleries in the division (organizing, filing, documenting, sorting, and cleaning).
  • Monitors common spaces such as computer labs, art galleries, and/or classrooms when appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
