Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation with an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job.
- A combination of education and experience related to the position as determined by the hiring manager may substitute for education up to a maximum of two (2) years.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
Valid Texas Class C Driver License, if required for the position.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Police Digital Audio/Video Specialist is a Temporary 6-month assignment.
- Research, locate, and provide audio/video evidence (body-worn camera and in-car videos) to Prosecutors, Courts, Supervisors, Officers, and Central Records.
- Reproduce multimedia copies of audio/video files and export data to various codec types.
- Coordinate and assist police officers and other law enforcement agencies as required.
- Inventory, remove, and replace secure data cards from police vehicles.
- Provide internal and external customer service.
- May operate city vehicle.
- May testify in court as a witness.

$25.00 per hour

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in locating and providing copies of in-car & body-worn camera videos for Prosecutors, Courts, Supervisors, Officers, and Central Records.
- Experience working in a law enforcement environment.
- Experience in reproduction of multimedia copies of audio/video files.
- Experience in exporting data to various codec types.
- Experience with maintaining confidentiality and maintaining confidential information and records.
- Experience fulfilling public information requests.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of audio/video database image storage, retrieval, and metadata management.
- Knowledge of evidence standards and best practices.
- Knowledge of applicable processes, techniques, and methods.
- Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing appropriately.
- Skill in using computers and software applications to manage various types of digital audio/video images.
- Skill in maintenance and operations of audio and video image producing equipment and software.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to use non-linear editing systems to perform audio and video duplications and editing.
- Ability to quickly and appropriately respond to requests for data and information.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective communications and working relationships with City employees, other government officials, and the public.
