About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Development & Communications to lead its fundraising and communication programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a comprehensive database of donors, volunteers, and supporters, as well as collaborating with the Board, Committees, staff, and volunteers in all aspects of fundraising. This includes the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of donors, managing a portfolio of high-net-worth donors, and developing tailored solicitation and stewardship plans. The role also involves creating and overseeing the creation of all communication and marketing materials to ensure a consistent message that builds a strong case for support. Candidates for the Vice President of Development & Communications role at the company should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with at least 5 years of experience in a full range of fundraising activities. This includes major gifts, annual funds, sponsorships, grants, special events, and planned giving. Experience in utilizing technology for fundraising and communications is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a creative fundraiser with a proven track record, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate absolute integrity and transparency. They must have exceptional planning skills, be goal-oriented, and have the ability to manage annual plans and budgets. A passion for the mission of the company, deep empathy for its beneficiaries, and an understanding of housing insecurity and poverty within the US are essential. The role requires a flexible and adaptable work style, with the ability to work some nights and weekends, and a proven track record of working effectively with a diverse range of colleagues, volunteers, and donors.
