What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): Develop and implement cohesive communications and outreach strategies aligned with agency mission and goals Create outreach materials, press releases, newsletters, and social media content tailored to target audiences Assist federal staff in crisis communication by drafting accurate and timely responses to media inquiries Support the planning and coordination of events, including logistics, venue selection, and promotional materials Conduct post-event evaluations to identify challenges and successes, providing recommendations for future improvements

What is Required (Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, communications, public relations, or related field; or 3 years of experience in a similar role Minimum 1 year of experience developing communication packages, strategies, or plans for an organization or project At least 1 year of experience supporting an Office on Trafficking in Persons (OTIP) and/or Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) program Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities Proficient with MS Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): Experience in event planning and execution Knowledge of 508 compliance standards Education and/or experience related to race equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in human services Familiarity with the challenges faced by refugees, immigrants, and asylees Previous experience working for a refugee/migrant program
