Job Summary/Basic Function:The COHS Marketing/Promotions Manager will be responsible for the overall strategy around marketing and recruitment for the college as a whole and for individual programs. This role will lead efforts on all social media platforms and develop a unified approach to digital marketing and web presence.
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and recruitment strategies for the college and its programs.Lead and manage all social media platforms, ensuring consistent and engaging content.Create and execute a cohesive digital marketing plan to enhance the college's online presence.Coordinate with the communication specialist, who will focus on written content creation.Balance strategic planning with hands-on execution to drive marketing initiatives forward.We are seeking a dynamic individual who is both capable of strategizing and executing marketing efforts to achieve our recruitment goals.
Department Overview:The College of Health Science is seeking a dynamic individual who is both capable of strategizing and executing marketing efforts to achieve our recruitment goals. The COHS Marketing/Promotions Manager will be responsible for the overall strategy around marketing and recruitment for the college as a whole and for individual programs. This role will lead efforts on all social media platforms and develop a unified approach to digital marketing and web presence.
Level Scope:Recognized subject matter expert who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field with limited oversight from managers. Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; requires deep job knowledge of area typically obtained through higher education combined with experience. Manages large projects or processes and problems faced are difficult and often complex; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy. Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures.
Essential Functions:60% of the time the Marketing/Promotions Manager must:
Create design concepts and make recommendations for national advertising, marketing materials and promotional pieces.Responsible for researching and overseeing the utilization of various analytical tools.Advocate for and foster networking and professional development of all COHS communication/marketing staff.Initiate market research studies and analyze their findings to understand customer and market opportunities for businesses.Direct the hiring of advertising, promotions, and marketing staff and oversee their daily activities.35% of the time the Marketing/Promotions Manager must:
Proactively optimize web pages for quality, brand compliance, accessibility, SEO (search engine optimization) and digital marketing best practices.Demonstrate proficiency with a range of content platforms and tools, including desktop/mobile applications, email marketing software, and familiarity with current and emerging digital communication technologies.Develop, coordinate, and execute marketing plans for the college.Develop and implement recruitment strategies to boost enrollment.Guide the development of content that actively engages key stakeholders, industry partners, and the academic community to boost the college's profile and reputation in healthcare and academic communities.Maintain a sound understanding of college and university policies, academic requirements, ability to navigate university channels, and balance the needs of faculty, staff and students.Provides value added input on strategy, resources, teaming partners, and cross selling opportunities.Research, propose, and implement new communications and marketing initiatives or partnerships that support COHS's goals.Support engagement efforts, events, and sponsorships.5% of the time the Marketing/Promotions Manager must:
Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Creative, project management and interpersonal skills.Exemplary customer service skills and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of customers, colleagues and vendors.Experience delegating to and managing a project team.Good knowledge of: marketing principles, organizational skills, staffing, annual revenue and customer growth.Experience: in marketing or sales promotion; website management; promoting cultural competency and/or diversity; social media and MS Office products.
Minimum
Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and 5 years experience including 1 year of managerial experience or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Interpersonal and leadership skills with a proven track record of collaboration with different stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics.Proficiency with marketing and communications software.Experience with traditional and digital marketing tools and tactics (e.g., Google analytics, SEM, SEO, PPC, and digital content marketing).Knowledge of current and emerging marketing trends and best practices in higher education.Higher education experience.Extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry.Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Wordpress, and Salesforce.Comfortable working with and further learning digital tools to help assist with writing and editing, including ChatGPT and other AI tools.Salary and Benefit

Salary range is $58,905.60 to $73,632.00 annually and is commensurate with experience. Boise State University provides a best-in-class benefits package, including (but not limited to):
