Strategic Communications Manager
Position Overview
The strategic communications manager has responsibility for managing and executing day-to-day communications that engage, connect, and inform both internal and external audiences for the residential business unit. The role includes positioning the business unit (internally and externally) , building rel ationships and creating consistent messaging to strengthen associate engagement, drive change, and enhance and protect Shaw’s reputation with cu stomers .
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute business unit communications strategy through content development and planning, digital engagement and live events .
Project manage daily and ongoing business unit communications initiatives and manage content planning for channels such as monthly townhall , all associate newsletter s , customer town halls, in-person customer engagements, live events, etc. and ensure communications are delivered in a timely and consistent manner
Manage business unit communications platforms and drive strategy for greater engagement, efficiency, scope and reach
Manage metrics and processes that measure communications impact and reinforce accountability
Work with strategic communications director to provide internal and external communications recommendations and support for major organizational change and initiatives
Execute communications to support business strategies and promote awareness, understanding and adoption of business unit priorities and values
Manage graphic design, web development and video production process aligned with delivering communications
Build and maintain trusting relationships with company leaders and other communications stakeholders and contributors
Requirements:
Four-year college degree.
5+ years of experience in communications field.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced writing and editing abilities.
Excellent problem solver with good attention to detail and ability to think conceptually and strategically.
Experience managing multiple communications platforms and related projects.
Adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced work environment and able to implement alternate solutions.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and possess good organizational skills.
Strong business acumen.
