Overview
The Currier Museum of Art seeks an experienced and creative
Director of Marketing & Communications
to develop and implement a strategic marketing and communications plan to increase the museum’s visibility in the region and nationally. The successful candidate will lead efforts to promote the museum, its exhibitions, special events, and programs to engage with our audience and to drive attendance, participation, and revenue.
The
Director of Marketing & Communications
will develop and implement the museum’s marketing plan and related budgets, emphasizing strategies that build the museum’s visibility, attendance, and membership and promote it at the local, regional, and national level.
Responsibilities:
Drives consistent brand management throughout all print, electronic, internal, and external communications and messaging.
Develops and maintains a network of media contacts regionally and nationally as appropriate. Delivers creative, engaging stories to the press, working closely with internal stakeholders on story development.
Develops an annual advertising plan for broadcast, web, and print media, and manages the designs and placement.
Oversees the strategy, design, and production of the museum’s print/electronic materials including: e-newsletters,
in focus magazine (managing editor), membership brochures, annual report, and all external communications. Supervises the Graphic Design & Social Media Specialist.
Develops a plan that capitalizes on technology to maximize the potential of electronic publications, website (www.currier.org), and social media to increase on-site and online visitation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with six to eight years of demonstrated increasingly responsible experience in public relations and marketing.
Ability to develop innovative ideas and lead media and marketing strategies internally and externally.
Well-versed in Internet and social media trends.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communications skills; ability to synthesize information quickly and accurately.
Demonstrated copy-editing and proofreading skills, with an eye for good graphic design and diligence with the rules of grammar, spelling, and style.
Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills with various constituencies both externally and internally.
Highly developed and demonstrated leadership skills.
Proven ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
