General Description
The Communities in Schools (CIS) Development and Communications Coordinator will support our fundraising and communications. In this role, the Coordinator will with and report to the Development Specialist to advance the organization's fund development, marketing campaigns, and donor cultivation and retention efforts. Develops and implements a comprehensive annual communications planOrganizes, catalogs, and maintains media coverage, media archives, and photo libraryProduces content for social media platforms. Schedules posts to ensure consistent and timely communication, and tracks analytics to improve engagement.Designs and sends monthly eNewsletter to stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, upcoming events, and relevant information.Identifies grant opportunities aligned with organizational goals, Prepares and submits grant proposals as needed.Updates and maintains website content with current news, events, and other relevant information.Assists with coordinating logistics, marketing, and volunteer support for organizational fundraising eventsSupports the execution of development and communications related meetingsSupports the Development Specialist with donor cultivation, implementing stewardship strategies, and monitoring retention rates to develop long-term engagement strategies.Designs communications collateral, such as brochures, flyers, and presentationsEnsures donor records are current, and prepares and sends acknowledgements to donorsPerform regular database maintenance and clean-up to ensure data integrity and accessibilityTakes meeting minutes for development and communication related meetingsParticipates in donor prospecting to solicit new funding opportunitiesPerforms other duties as assigned
Budgetary Responsibility:N/AReport Preparation:Prepares various reports as requested. Prepares and submits grant proposals as needed.Equipment Operation:Regular use of standard office equipment, to include computers, copiers, etc.Contacts:Frequent contacts within the organization as well as external contacts, to include donorsWork Direction/Supervision:N/ADecision Making:Performs work under the direction of the CIS Coordinator within the policy boundaries and established objectives and interprets policy on own initiative as necessary.Formal Policy-Setting Responsibilities:N/APhysical Demands:The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The noise level is quiet to moderate.
Qualifications
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with donors, community representatives, schools, students, families, and the general public.. Proficiency in Microsoft & Google applications, a donor database management system such as Network For Good, Canva, and Wordpress website management. Experience with social media campaign development, crafting newsletters, and artistic/creative interests. Highly organized, with strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills, with a keen attention to detail. Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making skills, with sensitivity to the nature of work performed.Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and 3 - 5 years experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience. Prior experience with donor database systems is preferred.
