Establishes and maintains continuous liaison with the MWR Program Director to generate information pertinent to facilities, programs, services and special events provided for authorized patrons. Support and market management's program efforts and aggressively seek new ideas to increase patronage. Actively seeks commercial sponsorship vendors to support departmental programs, services, and special events in accordance with the MWR manual. Analyzes and maintains demographic and other data to support target market analysis, customer identification, focus on customer relations vendors and customer service. Develops and executes a comprehensive marketing strategy and plan to support target market analysis, customer identification, focus on customer relations and customer service. Facilitates accelerated growth of new business through development and execution of marketing plans to expand patronage and utilization of services. Revitalizes existing or old business by upgrading the Activity's image through promotions, advertising and other marketing initiatives. Develops a strategy to retain current customers and attract new customers and to improve the image/value of the Activity to military commands and community. Develops, monitors and controls all printed material advertising for the Activity. Ensures continuous analysis of the Activity in areas of merchandising program development, public image and interrelationship with other local commands. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
A four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years performing similar duties as described above or combination of equivalent experience and education. Knowledge of and skill in the principles, concepts, and techniques of marketing. Knowledge of graphic design and marketing and promotional techniques used to increase patronage. PREFERRED:
Five or more years’ experience as a Marketing Specialist.
