The Director Marketing Tech will lead a dynamic team responsible for orchestrating business programs that align with the company's strategic objectives. This role demands a leader with a deep interest in inspiring their team to invent on behalf of the customer and helping drive a higher-level strategic vision for our Web Direct business.
The Director Marketing Tech will lead a team of program managers chartered with the innovation of customer experience on Microsoft’s flagship e-commerce store. You will be accountable for narrating an end-to-end vision of the future of shopping with Microsoft, aligning customer needs with business strategies, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives from conception to completion.

Responsibilities
You will be at the forefront of orchestrating the planning, execution, and delivery of customer solutions, ensuring they are aligned with the overarching business strategies. The role is characterized by a collaborative spirit, requiring you to work closely with cross-functional teams to propel program initiatives from their inception to their successful completion. A key aspect of the Director Marketing Tech role is to foster innovation and drive continuous enhancement in product management processes. This involves establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders to secure alignment and success. You will also be vigilant in monitoring performance, ready to make strategic adjustments to guarantee successful outcomes. You are a futurist, customer evangelist and empathetic leader, helping to inspire and grow your team to new heights.
Orchestrating the business program team rhythm that is complimentary to the existing engineering sprint planning cycles
Serve as the voice of reason when faced with competing priorities and enforce a logical rationalization matrix to justify tiebreaks
Partner closely with engineering to accelerate development cycles and delivery
Build a strategic vision across the direct-to-consumer experience, lending expertise when needed
Own stakeholder feedback loops and reporting to bring a highly matrixed organization along for the ride.
Work closely with data teams, finance and legal to establish partnerships highlighting reporting and success criteria
Manage and grow a team of established business program managers, providing them with an inclusive team culture
Be the voice of the customer in all meetings, assumptions with data and maintaining a long-term vision for Microsoft Store.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience
OR equivalent experience
10+ years of relevant experience in product planning, product management or program management in the ecommerce
5 years' people management experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience
OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience
OR equivalent experience
6+ years technology/process improvement experience
Proven track record of influencing all aspects of a product lifecycle by working across multiple stakeholders
Proven track record of delivering results and earning trust in a matrix environment
Problem solving and analytical skills
Facilitation and presentation skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Engineering project management tool – Azure DevOps (VSO)
Previous e-commerce experience
Marketing Technology M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.
