4/1/2022 at 11:59 PM Central Time (US & Canada)Tazewell County Consolidated Communications (TC3), IL, was formed in December 2017 to provide consolidated communications centers as directed by the State of Illinois. TC3 serves an area of approximately 700 square miles, providing E911 dispatch services for Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services for all communities in Tazewell County.TC3 is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Executive Director to manage and lead the 911 Dispatch Center and its operations. The Director will focus on increasing operational efficiencies, elevating service quality, and identifying growth opportunities. A strong training background and the ability to develop staff in their leadership roles are essential.Responsibilities:- Lead and direct a staff of 28 full-time telecommunication employees.- Manage the operations of the 911 Dispatch Center, including reporting and analysis, labor relations, budget development, financial accounting, long-range financial planning, training, and 911 system administration.- Maintain the 911 Dispatch Center, including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software, hardware, and processes.- Report to the TC3 Governance Board, composed of 11 members representing law enforcement, fire, EMS, and elected officials.Qualifications:- At least seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in an operational public safety communications position, with a minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory or administrative capacity, preferably in a multi-position, multi-jurisdictional environment. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be evaluated with each applicant.- A bachelor’s degree in public administration, law enforcement, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A master’s degree is a plus.- Professional certification as an Emergency Number professional through NENA, Registered Public Safety Leader through APCO, and Emergency Medical Dispatch certification is highly desirable.- Experience with the implementation of next-generation technology, such as text to 911, is also desirable.- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and regulations pertaining to 911 systems.- Comfortable being a working director with skills in personnel supervision; experience in a management position in a unionized environment is a plus.- Proven track record in a progressive communications system and working closely with municipal officials.The agency offers a competitive benefits package and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
