Bachelor’s degree in electrical or software engineering.Years of experience:
A minimum of 5 years in railway and transit signaling systems, preferably with a major railway company.Must have a practical design experience of railway control signals.Experience in understanding of the functional and operational requirements of the signaling systems.Experience in systems processes and design, theoretical timing analysis, operational scenarios, reliability and performance analysis.Safety oriented, good understanding of the vital railway control principles. Capable to identify safety related hazards considering railway system failure analysis.Good knowledge of AREMA standards. Familiarity with CENELEC, IEC, and IEEE standards is a plus.Good knowledge of North American signaling systems: Conventional Rail Signaling, PTC, CBTC. Knowledge of ETCS is a plus.Fluency in French and functional level of English in order to be able to work closely in collaboration with stakeholders in Ontario.Personal & soft skills:Responsible and dynamicAbility to adapt to both new and different environments.Located in Canada and able to travel to sites overseas.Internal and External RelationshipsInternal: Must interface with all departments and be familiar with all systems within SYSTRA.External: Must have knowledge of Class 1 railroad signaling systems and equipment.
