Manager - Music Therapy

Job Description:The Manager, Music Therapy Program will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive music therapy program within the hospital.This role involves creating therapeutic interventions that support the emotional, psychological, and physical well-being of patients through music.This role will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage in program development, and ensure that all therapeutic practices meet professional and ethical standards.By working with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychosocial and medical needs of patients receiving inpatient and outpatient treatment, this individual provides a patient-centered approach to meet the needs of patients and families; plans and coordinates evidence-based interventions using music to address the goals of care; enhance patient experience by monitoring and responding to therapeutic evaluative information; and acts as an advocate for patients and their families.
Job Requirements:
Master's degree in music therapy required.Minimum of two years of clinical experience in music therapy, preferably in a healthcare setting.Strong clinical skills in music therapy, including assessment, treatment, and evaluation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population and interdisciplinary teams.Ability to adapt music therapy interventions to meet the specific needs of various patient populations.Soothing and pleasant singing voice.Ability to learn substantial amounts of music quickly.Proficient in keyboard and guitar as accompanying instruments.Ability to create a safe environment and mode of expression through music.Comprehensive knowledge of age-appropriate music spanning from newborn to geriatrics.Knowledge of all developmental stages of life.Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn all technology applications required for job-related duties including EMR, music therapy equipment, etc.Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.Empathy, compassion, and a genuine interest in supporting patients' and working on goals within the plan of care through music therapy techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:NICU- MT Certification preferred.
