Job Title: Protestant Music Director.
Job Location: Naval Station Great Lakes, IL.
Job Type: Part Time Job.
Schedule:
- Conduct music for special services of worship: 10 units.
- Play music for special Command Services: 5 units.
- Lead volunteer choirs in both Chapels: 104 units.
Qualifications:
- Clear understanding of Navy organization and the pluralistic ministry requirements that affect the use of Chapel facilities and staff.
- At least two years of piano accompanist and worship musical leadership in a contemporary Christian church.
Duties:
- Possess the ability to develop rapport and promote teambuilding within the Protestant volunteer choirs, praise teams, and other choral groups.
- Notify the Command Chaplain (or Duty Chaplain) by telephone and email between 2-3 hours ahead of scheduled time when unable to perform services due to illness, inclement weather, or emergencies.
- Provide a pre-approved substitute when unable to perform the services required. Command Chaplain must be notified of planned substitutions two weeks in advance of arranged absences (vacations and holidays).
- Arrive for all services no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the service.
