POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Alumni Relations & Marketing, the Assistant or Associate Director of Marketing at Western State College of Law will be responsible for creating, managing, and coordinating the College of Law's marketing and communication efforts. This responsibility involves developing and overseeing strategies that will contribute to the enhancement of the school's branding, messaging, and overall image. The Assistant or Associate Director will play a pivotal role in devising and implementing a comprehensive and inclusive marketing plan encompassing various channels such as digital platforms, print media, website content, social media, and promotional materials for various departments, including the Office of Admissions, Financial Aid, Alumni Relations, Student Services, and faculty. This individual will work towards ensuring cohesive and effective communication efforts to engage with current and prospective stakeholders.
Requirements
KEY JOB ELEMENTS:
• Develop comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance the law school's brand and reputation.
• Oversee the creation of compelling materials for print, digital, and social media.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to promote events and programs.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to identify and gather compelling story ideas and messaging opportunities that can be utilized for marketing and communication materials.
• Analyze data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns.
• Stay updated on industry trends and innovative marketing practices to keep the law school competitive.
• Coordinate with the Dean and Assistant Dean of Alumni Relations & Marketing to advance the law school's image.
• In coordination with department leads, develop, produce, and distribute promotional materials and products.
• Coordinate with the Office of Admissions to align messaging and recruitment efforts.
• Coordinate with the Office of Alumni Relations to ensure alumni and donors are engaged through effective targeting strategies.
• Utilize market research to identify target audiences and tailor messaging accordingly.
• Monitor and respond to feedback and inquiries from the law school community through various communication channels.
• Develop marketing and communication strategies that prioritize maximizing ROI.
• Participate on internal and university committees.
• Field and complete additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Assistant Dean, Alumni Relations & Marketing
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations from an accredited institution; or a minimum of 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree and prior higher education and law school experience preferred. Candidates must be familiar with Adobe Creative Suite, Email Service Providers (ESP), automation, social media and management platforms, and photography and video.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (KSA):
1. Strong understanding of marketing and communication strategies to target and reach key audiences through tailored collateral (digital and print).
2. Excellent writing communication skills.
3. Ability to work within a diverse population.
4. Must have strong customer service and organizational skills.

ENVIRONMENT:
This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Alumni Relations & Marketing. Within this work environment, the employee encounters a diverse population of students, alumni, staff, and faculty. Internal contacts include staff, faculty, and students. External contacts may include initial contact with prospective and incoming students, as well as outside affiliates of Western State.
Salary Description
$65,000.00 to $82,000.00
