The Library and Knowledge Services team at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a Clinical Effectiveness Librarian. We deliver high quality, customer-focused library and knowledge services to staff and students. As part of a dispersed team working from four libraries, you will play a key role in supporting staff and students across the organisation to access and use evidence-based resources to inform their practice.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

• Manage, deliver and evaluate an efficient evidence search service to inform decision making at all levels.
• Keep colleagues up to date with recently published evidence.
• Deliver and promote services to support evidence-based practice and lifelong learning including designing, delivering and evaluating library inductions and training.
• Work with colleagues, regional and national networks, and external partners to maintain and share good practice within recognised frameworks.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Degree in Library and Information Management or Science
• Chartered Librarian or willingness to achieve

Experience

• Two years' library experience at a senior level.
• Experience of supporting complex enquiries through in-depth searching and retrieval of evidence-based information.
• Experience in the development and provision of training programmes.
• Experience of providing support to library users.
• Knowledge of NHS electronic resources.
• Understanding of the NHS and its priorities.
• Experience of working within mental health, learning disability or NHS service.
• Development of outreach/remote library services.
• Experience of people management.

Skills

• Excellent IT skills and use of online library systems and resources.
• Effective motivator and negotiator.
• Ability to use own expertise, judgement and initiative to plan workload, solve problems and allocate resources.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritise own workload and achieve deadlines.
• Critical appraisal skills.

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year pro rata per annum.
