The Library and Knowledge Services team at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a Clinical Effectiveness Librarian. We deliver high quality, customer-focused library and knowledge services to staff and students. As part of a dispersed team working from four libraries, you will play a key role in supporting staff and students across the organisation to access and use evidence-based resources to inform their practice.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Manage, deliver and evaluate an efficient evidence search service to inform decision making at all levels.
- Keep colleagues up to date with recently published evidence.
- Deliver and promote services to support evidence-based practice and lifelong learning including designing, delivering and evaluating library inductions and training.
- Work with colleagues, regional and national networks, and external partners to maintain and share good practice within recognised frameworks.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree in Library and Information Management or Science
- Chartered Librarian or willingness to achieve
Experience
- Two years' library experience at a senior level.
- Experience of supporting complex enquiries through in-depth searching and retrieval of evidence-based information.
- Experience in the development and provision of training programmes.
- Experience of providing support to library users.
- Knowledge of NHS electronic resources.
- Understanding of the NHS and its priorities.
- Experience of working within mental health, learning disability or NHS service.
- Development of outreach/remote library services.
- Experience of people management.
Skills
- Excellent IT skills and use of online library systems and resources.
- Effective motivator and negotiator.
- Ability to use own expertise, judgement and initiative to plan workload, solve problems and allocate resources.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise own workload and achieve deadlines.
- Critical appraisal skills.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year pro rata per annum.
