Overview
KN Literary Arts is growing! And we’re looking for exceptional editorial professionals — seasoned experts who know the power of story and the art of writing, editing, and publishing — to help us grow even more.
We are a mission-driven, woman-owned editorial studio with a singular purpose: to help authors bring their transformational wisdom, stories, and thought leadership into book form. Whether they are business owners or entrepreneurs, coaches, healers, seekers or memoirists, our clients come to us with book ideas that will change lives. It’s our job to ensure their messages and manuscripts are professionally polished and ready for reading.
We are currently expanding our pool of expert contractors to help guide our authors through the writing and publishing process.
You may be a good fit for KNLA if
- You are highly skilled at your craft and take pride in your work.
- You listen deeply — not just to what a client says, but how they say it.
- You navigate client relationships with grace, guiding decision-making and offering feedback with both clarity and care.
- You meet deadlines, communicate proactively, and know when to escalate challenges.
- You’re aligned with our mission and believe in the power of books to inspire and transform.
We Are Seeking
- Ghostwriters (Book Proposals & Manuscripts) – Our ghostwriters capture the voices of our clients so seamlessly that authors feel like they’re reading their own words.
- Book Doctors (Book Proposals & Manuscripts) – Our book doctors assess what’s working, what’s missing, and what needs refinement to turn a manuscript (or proposal) into a compelling, cohesive work.
- Developmental Editors – Our developmental editors are strategic partners that help authors shape structure, deepen themes, and elevate their storytelling.
- Line Editors – Sentence by sentence, our line editors bring precision and clarity to a manuscript — enhancing the author’s voice and style with the right choice of words.
- Cover Designers – A book’s front cover is its first impression. Our cover designers are experienced visual storytellers who capture the essence of a book and extend that through compelling imagery.
- Interior Designers – More than aesthetics, book interiors shape and help guide the reader’s experience. Our interior designers create layouts that are both beautiful and effortlessly readable.
How to Apply
This is an opportunity to join a company that values excellence, collaboration, and care — both for our authors and for each other. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear more about your experience!
Our application collects details about your industry background, the book projects you’ve worked on, and the specific services you provide. As part of our onboarding, we’ll also ask about the genres and topics you most love to work on — because we believe that the best books are made when editors and writers are deeply aligned with the material.
