Position Overview
Picture yourself preparing press releases and newsletters, communicating with the media, maintaining and enhancing our website, creating the weekly newsletter, maintaining signage, and more. Open Space seeks a courteous, capable, reliable, and collaborative individual to join our busy Outreach team as Marketing Coordinator. A multifaceted role, the Marketing Coordinator position includes administrative, creative, and physically active responsibilities, participating in and supporting many aspects of outreach activity. Reporting to the Outreach Director, you will help create and distribute inspiring stories that engage and expand our Open Space community.
Primary Responsibilities
Guided by the Outreach Director, responsibilities include and are not limited to:
maintains and updates new content on the WIX website.schedules and maintains social media content.maintains all internal promotional content (posters / flyers / brochures / lobby monitor)coordinates and creates a weekly newsletter.drafts and distributes press releases and communications assets to media, partner organizations, and others as needed.coordinates timely posting and storage of promotional A-frames and road signs. If all else fails, you implement promptly.maintains outreach checklists, lists, reports.tracks timelines/deadlines.coordinates and files marketing and communications assets.sources media and vendor information.gathers and shares digital engagement analytics.other related duties as assigned.Qualifications. You:
embrace the mission, vision, and values of Open Space.embrace customer service best practices in all internal, donor, and community interactions.meet deadlines; embody punctuality, efficiency, reliability, and self-motivation.demonstrate interest in outreach and communications; experience is a plus.exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.can work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.are self-motivated, detail-oriented, take accountability, and adhere to deadlines.maintain confidentiality of communications and proprietary information.have strong digital literacy, confidence, and the ability and enthusiasm to master new apps. Literacy should include WIX, Hootsuite or similar, Constant Contact, Google Workspace, Meta suite.
WIX and Meta suite expertise and photography skills are a plus.Canva and Adobe Suite proficiency a plus.
have a positive attitude and empathy for coworkers and the community.have reliable transportation for posting signage (regularly) and attending off-site events (occasionally).are willing and able to work some evening and weekend events.are a legal resident of Washington State.are eligible for a Class 12 MAST permit.possess a working and insured vehicle, and a current driver's license.are willing and able to lift 25#.Vashon Island resident or strong familiarity with Vashon community.Bachelor's degree (a plus).
Hours and Compensation
Non-exempt part-time position: 24 hours/week. Compensation: $23-$26/hr DOE.
