Essential Job Functions:
The Designer I will assist the principal architects and project managers with the following:
Analyze and develop approaches to the creation of architectural design, design development and documentationDevelop, modify and or review drawings according to established standardsReview of developer's architectural documents for contractual compliance with design standardsEnsures documentation for all phases conforms to QA QC and Best Practice Standards applying proper QA QC methods throughout projectUnderstand and translate design intent, product and code research, into technical documentsCompletion of feasibility and concept studiesFeasibility Studies, Concept Design, Programming and Master planningProvides construction administration services - overseeing the project completionDevelopment of As-Built drawing sets to deliver to clientDigital rendering and 3D modeling presentations/design drawingsClient, consultant and contractor project information coordinationMaintain relationships with clients, sub-contractors and construction team, answer questions and provide solutionsCreating client presentations and interviewsMentoring and directing work of graduate designers in developing solutions to technical and design detail problems following established standardsRequirements
Education:
An accredited Bachelor of Architecture degree or a Master of Architecture (MArch) is preferred. Architecture License is preferred, but not required.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the practice of architecture and or architectural design documentation working toward licensure
Necessary Skills:
The candidate should have strong skills in creative and technical thinking, verbal, written & graphic communication plus the following additional requirements:
Strong knowledge of design principles and the ability to interpret design concepts and layouts, including commonly used standards, practices and procedures within the professionStrong knowledge of sustainability including USGBD LEED, LEED accreditation preferredKnowledge of building regulations, life safety codes, design techniques, tools and design principles involved in the production of precision technical plansStrong creative and technical thinking skillsStrong presentation & graphic communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively, graphically, verbally and in writing.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative SuitesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailStrong administrative and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work within budgetary guidelines providing high quality service to clients.Ability to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to build relationships and work successfully with many different constituents and personnelBenefits
