- Plan, shoot, edit, and post video content for Saddleback Church digital platforms (social media, website, app) in a short turnaround time for weekend services and church-wide events.
- Innovate, produce, and test new content for social media platforms—creating content suitable for multiple platforms and adapting storytelling approaches to each channel’s unique requirements.
- Support the overall digital strategy by driving innovation and ideating new ways to maximize the use of video assets.
- Pitch ideas based on the needs of Saddleback Church and ensure they align with the church’s mission and vision.
- From initial concept to final production, plan and execute short-form digital video projects for the church.
- Collaborate with Creative Team members to develop creative concepts and pitch creative treatments.
- Conceptualize, outline, shoot, and edit various video elements for branding projects while maintaining the highest standards that are consistent with the voice and brand of Saddleback Church.
- Partner closely with other Communications team members to develop and execute concepts and ideas in alignment with the Saddleback brand.
- Capture and curate digital assets (short form video) and distribute to Central teams and campuses for use in marketing on a variety of platforms (social media, website, email, Saddleback Church App, screens, etc.)
- Collaborate with Central ministries/teams (Small Groups, Worship, Production, Video, Experience, Engagement, NextGen, etc.) and provide creative/videography direction for their respective ministries.
- Help develop shotlists for videographers and provide reference guides/shots.
- Maintain an organized digital asset library and follow best practices for file organization and archiving.
- Stay up-to-date with social media video trends, industry best practices, and creative technologies, incorporating innovative tools and techniques into visual content.
WHO YOU ARE
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software (specifically Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, etc.)
- Motion design experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to translate concepts into visually compelling content.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling techniques, camera operation, lighting, and sound design.
- Ability to shoot video, light sets, and edit video.
- Self-starter who enjoys coming up with and pitching ideas.
- Proactive and excellent ability to problem-solve.
- Excellent attention to detail and passion for maintaining high-quality standards.
- Time management skills and ability to work under fast timelines, completing projects same day.

WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
- 2 years or more experience working in a church or para-church organization.
- 2 years or more experience with video content creation or related role.
- Have an understanding of pre-production, production, and post-production.
- Be able to provide a personal portfolio showing a diverse range of video content projects.
- High School/GED required.
- A bachelor’s degree in video production, digital media, visual arts, communications, or related field preferred.
Saddleback Church’s pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity and budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. The estimated pay rate for this position is $23.00-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience. We will provide a pay rate within our salary structure that fits a candidate’s qualifications and experience for the job. The posted wage range does not guarantee a specific job offer.
