We’re seeking applicants for our Social Media Associate position. You will be responsible for planning, creating, posting, and analyzing engaging and educational social media content. Your overarching goal will be to generate homeowner interest in Certasun’s services including rooftop solar, whole home battery backup, and residential electric vehicle chargers.

Certasun is seeking candidates who reside in the Chicagoland area, within commuting distance to our Buffalo Grove office, and who can regularly travel to installation sites in the Chicagoland and Milwaukee areas.

This is a hybrid position and will require 2-3 days per week in the office and / or on site at installations or events.

Typical working hours are 9 am – 5 pm Monday through Friday. Weekday hours may occasionally need to be adjusted, and some weekend hours may be required based on installation schedules and customer availability to capture key photo and video content.

Responsibilities

Planning

• Develop and implement a social media plan and calendar with the support of Marketing & Sales Management.
• Define our social media performance goals and how we will measure our results.
• Coordinate with other departments to schedule and “content days / sessions” during which you’ll direct and capture creative photo and video content of our team for use in social media assets.

Content Creation

• Create written, photo, and video content / assets primarily for Certasun’s social media accounts, that may also be adapted for use in our digital ads, email marketing, and on our website.
• Draft complete posts for each social media platform.
• Keep up to date with social media best practices and trends, especially ones that are relevant to our target audience.

Platform Management

Assist with the management of Certasun’s social media accounts :

• Create and schedule posts
• Update profile information
• Moderate and interact with comments, messages, and other accounts.

Analysis & Reporting

Rigorously track and analyze the results of our social media efforts on an ongoing basis. Report to marketing and sales management on what’s working, what’s not, and provide suggestions for improvement. Some questions you will need to answer regularly include :

• How many people are we reaching? What are our engagement rates? Are people taking the action we want?
• Are we reaching the correct audience? How can we reach more of the right people?
• Is our audience engaging the way we hoped? Why or why not?
• How can we generate more leads using social media, and how do we know if a lead came from or was influenced by social media?
• How can we reach and attract more top talent in our industry with social media?

Key Qualifications & Qualities

• Demonstrated experience in both creative and analytical roles. You have a strong ability to understand complex topics and communicate them succinctly to others who may not know as much about the topic, without losing accuracy or important distinctions.
• Data nerd – you are motivated to understand and be able to explain how and why your efforts are or aren’t working
• Engaging personality – you like interacting face-to-face or on a call with coworkers and customers, and make people feel comfortable and welcome. You’re able to put this personality trait to use to successfully direct and capture engaging video content.
• Experience with both the content creation and admin side of one or more top social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, etc.).
• Experience and comfort with Canva or a similar content creation tool.
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
• Experience with Salesforce, or another CRM database and reporting tool (such as Hubspot).
• Authorized to work in the United States for any employer
• A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for commuting to installation sites are the Chicagoland and Milwaukee areas.

Salary & benefits

• Annual salary : $60,000-70,000 based on experience
