Social Media Content Creator
to turbocharge our content production and help RA Capital earn an outsized share of voice in the biotech and planetary health spaces. The work we do saves lives, and we want the world to see why it matters, but we also want to have fun doing it. Think SNL writer’s room more than PBS documentaries (though those are great, too!). Through fun, entertaining and informative short-form content, graphics and animations we hope to light up social platforms and inspire constructive conversations. We take fun seriously even as we work on solving some of the world’s most serious problems. Our ideal candidate knows viral loops and what it takes to earn subscribers and get the right kind of attention online through engaging visual content. They’ll know the ins-and-outs unique to current social platforms and track emerging platforms and ideas. They will help us shape culture with trend-setting, audience-focused content that drives brand awareness and fuels engagement with RA Capital properties and ideas. We want the American public to be as hyped about science and biotechnology innovation as we are at RA Capital, and take pride in the role they play in helping create a healthier future (e.g. through their taxes, savings, and insurance premiums). Primary Responsibilities:
Create and edit short-form, quick-turn, engaging videos optimized for various social platforms (LinkedIn, Lemon8, Twitter, TikTok (TBD), Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.) Develop eye-catching social media graphics, visual assets including live action, animation and motion graphics Help define, build and engage RA Capital audiences for RA Capital properties Ensure brand consistency across content and platforms Monitor content performance with Communications Planner and adjust approach based on analytics Monitor competitive activity and stay current with social media trends and best practices Required Qualifications:
5+ years experience building and maintaining audiences and creating social media content Creative storyteller with strong visual aesthetic Demonstrated understanding of social media algorithms Demonstrated skill in Film, Digital Media, Animation, or related field Strong portfolio demonstrating video editing and motion graphics work Experience with social media management and content optimization Ability to work in our Boston office on a hybrid schedule Open to local candidates only; no relocation Technical Skills:
Video editing software (e.g., Capcut, Descript, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) Prompt writing for generative content (e.g., Runway.ai, Sora, Midjourney) Motion graphics and animation (e.g., After Effects, Cinema 4D) Basic photography and videography Understanding of video codecs and optimization Desired Skills:
3D animation experience Knowledge of UI/UX principles Basic scripting/storytelling and storyboarding skills Experience with live streaming Experience generating content in a regulated industry Personal Qualities:
