Position SummaryThe Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) is responsible for directing the Terry College of Business brand messaging through a variety of digital communications, print publications, branded merchandise, and external media. The Creative Design Specialist works independently and/or equally as much with other Marketing and Communication professionals to provide graphic design and visual solutions that meet the marketing and communications needs of the college and its clients. Responsibilities included, but are not limited to, consulting with clients on design ideas and developing and implementing concepts that work in various mediums (e.g. web, social media, illustration, animation, digital advertising, signage, photography/video, promotional merchandise, environmental design, and a wide variety of print materials including the biannual Terry magazine).This position reports to the Creative Services Manager who oversees the design direction for the Terry College. This person is expected to work independently to meet deadlines, and with other OMC personnel and the Director of Creative Services to ensure all pieces comply with UGA and Terry College style guidelines and standards. Consultation with OMC staff, the Senior Director, department heads, and internal clients occurs regularly.

DesignContributes to and leads creativity, conceptualization, and production of digital and print materials including animations, brochures, flyers, posters, PowerPoint slides, invitations, web designs and wireframes, social media graphics, infographics, and advertisements (digital, display and print). Design creation will be based on customer specifications, needs and campaigns. Follows the OMC workflow process to ensure job deadlines are met and design is of sound quality for digital display or printing on various substrates. Often represents OMC as the lead design expert in the room, exercising independence in design execution. Interacts with print vendors as a primary contact for execution of printing services. Coordinates with external vendors to ensure quality and timeliness.

Client SupportMeets with clients to determine goals and needs, reviews proofs/mock ups and obtains signed-off approvals. Effectively understands customer needs and communicates project status to the Director of Creative Services. Facilitates customer service through electronic communication and face-to-face meetings. Collaborate regularly with OMC team on design status/efforts.
