The Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Partnerships Team is responsible for managing key Verizon strategic relationships that serve to connect customers with the content and experiences they love on the nation’s best network. We oversee partnerships, source opportunities, and negotiate with a broad range of entities, including major streamers, tech companies, sports leagues, vMVPDs, digital subscription services, and gaming platforms. Through our myPlan and myHome perks, Verizon is one of the largest direct-to-consumer platforms in the U.S., and our team sits at the center as the owner of those relationships and the driver of strategic decision-making around what comes next for Verizon in DTC partnerships. The Sr. Director of DTC Partnerships - Content Strategy will help drive Verizon’s value proposition across Mobile and Home by executing and managing direct-to-consumer distribution deals (e.g., Netflix, YouTube, Apple, Google, NFL, NBA, Gaming partnerships, etc.) and relationships across the partnership portfolio. What you'll be doing: Lead negotiations and structure deals with partners to secure DTC distribution agreements with the necessary rights to support Verizon’s current and future businesses. Develop and maintain relationships with content partners and the industry at large, representing the company that garners Verizon’s reputation as an industry leader in the sports, media and entertainment space. Sourcing and identifying potential new content partnerships that drive incremental value to Verizon’s customers and the company’s core business objectives. Meticulously execute on all partnership operational elements, including troubleshooting, performance reporting and QBRs. Align internal stakeholders to present a shared vision to external partners. Evaluate and drive conversations with potential Verizon partners and secure buy-in around Verizon’s value as a marketing and distribution partner for DTC services. Ideate around ways to expand and grow existing partnerships through collaboration with other Verizon BUs. Champion team objectives when working on broader company-wide strategic partnerships. What we’re looking for: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience. Eight to 10+ years of relevant experience. Exceptional negotiation and contract skills within the Content/Technology/DTC ecosystem. Proven leadership and team management abilities, with experience in strategic planning and change management. Expertise in optimizing content partnerships and managing a portfolio of relationships (preferably in DTC/entertainment/technology). Demonstrated success in developing and implementing content strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong business acumen and understanding of the content industry and Verizon's core business. Expert problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to generate data-driven insights. Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships. Knowledge of the market, customer-centric vision, and media/technology ecosystem. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and matrixed environment. Experience developing and presenting to senior executives. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and GSuite. Even better if you have: MBA and/or JD. Ability to create “Consultant-Grade” presentations that clearly articulate the market, customer needs, Verizon relevance in this space, and define the strategy that will allow Verizon to win. Passion for the content, technology and DTC industries – extra points if this includes knowledge and experience in the developing consumer AI space. Strong network across the media/tech/content community. Where you’ll be working In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
