Job Title: Technical Writer Location: Cudahy, WI Employment Type: Long-term Contract/ Full-Time (12-18 months) Shift: Monday–Friday with some off-shift responsibilities Position Overview System One is seeking Technical Writers to support our client based in Cudahy, WI. This is a long-term contract opportunity, with full time work hours. In this role, you will create clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation such as procedures and training materials for a diverse audience. You will collaborate across departments—working with engineers, safety professionals, environmental teams, maintenance, and a represented workforce—to support operational excellence and ensure document accuracy and accessibility. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather technical content through observation, interviews, notes, and photos Translate technical information into accessible procedures and training guides Ensure documentation adheres to company formatting and content standards Incorporate feedback to improve document usability and clarity Edit and maintain consistency and accuracy across all documentation Prioritize tasks based on business needs and team goals in collaboration with supervisors Promote and maintain a safe work culture Identify and resolve issues related to documentation processes Conduct audits of document distribution and identify discrepancies Required Qualifications Associate’s degree with 1+ year of writing experience OR high school diploma with 3+ years of writing experience Ability to wear both half and full-face respirators Strong written and verbal communication skills Understanding of confidentiality and data privacy standards Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment Familiarity with represented environments Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field 2+ years of experience writing procedural documents High attention to detail and quality Excellent time management and ability to meet tight deadlines Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership Strong research skills and ability to independently seek answers Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Word, Excel, and Outlook Ref: #180-Eng Madison
