Part Time: estimated 6-10 hours per week during the program year from mid-August through mid-June (10 month position).
Sunday morning expected hours are 2.5-3 hoursSunday School and Sunday Service take place 9:30-10:45 am
Responsibilities:
Foster the spiritual development of our youth through music; demonstrate that music is a key component of the Christian education of our youth.
Plan, Recruit, Rehearse, and Lead youth in the following ensembles:
1. Youth Bells, Grades 6-122. Ukulele Choir, Grades 4-5 (accompany Sunday School Choir or ukulele performance)3. Sunday School Choir, Grades 1-34. Cherub Choir, Ages 3-5
Collaborate with the Director of Children and Family Ministries, Christian Education Committee and Director of Music to select music for the youth music program, and plan/schedule youth music participation in worship.
Schedule and Expectations:
Proposed Sunday Schedule
1. 9:00-9:30 am, Youth Bells (rehearse in Bell Room)2. 9:35-9:55 am, Ukulele Choir (rehearse in Bell Room?)3. 10:00-10:20, Sunday School Choir (rehearse in Rm. 1/2?)4. 10:25-10:40 am, Cherub Choir (rehearse in Sunday School Classroom #?)5. Other times as necessary when youth participate in worship
Participation in Worship Expectations
1. Youth Bells, 6-8 times per program year2. Sunday School Choir, 8-10 times per program year3. Cherub Choir, 2-4 times per program year4. Christmas Eve Family Service (late afternoon)5. Additional times as requested by Music Director, Pastor/Head of Staff, or CE Director
Meeting Expectations
-Monthly check in with Director of Music-Christian Education Committee as requested (committee meets monthly)-Worship, Music & Arts Committee as requested (committee meets monthly)
Desirable Skills:
Piano fluency; Knowledge of children’s vocal pedagogyExcellent communication skills with children and adultsExcitement for working with youth
Relationships:
Accountable to the Director of Music and the Pastor/Head of Staff.
Salary Range:
$10,500 - $11,900; commensurate with training and experience. Paid monthly.
