Princeton, NJ Position Summary: The Senior Director, People Experience Communications is responsible for the overall strategy, execution and measurement of communications supporting the Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) People Organization. Working closely with the People Organization and Corporate Affairs teams, the Senior Director will lead internal and external communications to engage target audiences around human resources and across the enterprise. They are responsible for internal and external leadership communications; this includes all communications and executive thought leadership planning for the Chief People Officer. This individual is a leader with an enterprise mindset and experience with executive communications, corporate reputation, and employee engagement. They are comfortable with interacting, building trust and persuading key stakeholders. They are prepared to leverage these skills to advocate on behalf of BMS and to position the company as a leader in the biopharma industry and an employer of choice. Further, this leader is a strategic thinker when it comes to defining strategy and building evidence through strategic communications for BMS's leadership, culture/company values, people strategy, brand and other key topics supporting BMS as an employer of choice. This leader is an expert at translating these into communications formats both internally and externally consistent with today's fast-moving digital world and leverages metrics and analytics to determine high-value content and opportunities. This leader will be an effective manager of direct and matrix teams, with the ability and experience to implement large-scale leadership initiatives in coordination with business partners and outside resources. Key Responsibilities: Develop and oversee the executive and internal communications strategy, narrative and support for the Chief People Officer. Support the Chief People Officer as a thought leader, including being responsible for preparing them for media and other external and internal speaking and written/article engagements, including function town halls. Participate as an active member of the People Leadership Team, guiding direction for the overall communication strategy. Lead communications across all areas of the People Org creating one narrative to drive BMS's People Strategy. Drive employee engagement through strategic communications and change activities through strategic marketing activities inclusive of internal and external channels that focus on sharing the story of BMS and its people-focused achievements, company culture/values and other topics to support the company as a great place to work. Oversee change and integration-related communications for change-related human resources initiatives, with a focus on enterprise engagement with areas such as culture/values, employee experience, integration, organizational changes, talent and other priority areas supporting the People Organization. Manage team of communicators, prioritizing work, allocating resources and optimizing service models to maximize the function's productivity and impact. Demonstrate a passion for learning, innovation, sense of urgency, accountability, working inclusively and with integrity. Qualifications & Experience: Accomplished communications professional with 15 years + experience in employee/leadership communications, brand or corporate communications, public relations agency or related field. Healthcare experience and a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry are preferred. University degree required. Degree in Communications or a related field preferred. Proven experience designing and executing communications strategies in coordination with business partners. Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, content creation, channel strategy and digital/social media best practices, including how to optimize content delivery across channels and audiences. Proven ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with team members and agency resources across business units, functional departments, geographies, and disciplines through clear communication and interpersonal communication skills. Superior written and interpersonal communications skills. Strong presentation and facilitation skills; ability to engage with and persuade a wide variety of audiences.
