Trinity Anglican Church is a joyful community located in the vibrant downtown of Thomasville, GA, a small town 35 miles north of Tallahassee, FL. Our vision is to love God, love others, and share life. We value worship that is rooted in the ancient rhythms of our Anglican heritage and open to the new work that the Holy Spirit is doing in our lives and community.
We are seeking a part-time (20-25 hours a week) Director of Music who will lead and coordinate worship music at Trinity. As a church that appreciates various styles of worship music, an ideal candidate will be able to coordinate music in both traditional and contemporary styles. While experience in an Anglican worship setting is preferred, candidates do not need to be Anglican to apply. This position reports to the Rector.
Responsibilities:
· Lead and direct the choir and various musical ensembles
· Provide musical accompaniment for choral arrangements and service music
· Coordinate contemporary music selections (currently music during Communion and some offertories)
· Assist clergy in planning Sunday worship and special services (Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, etc.)
· Encourage use of congregation’s musical abilities in worship
· Develop and maintain parish’s music library
· Oversee care of pianos, organ, and other instruments
· Develop an annual budget (to be approved by the Vestry)
· Provide music for weddings and funerals (for additional compensation)
Requirements:
· Personal relationship with Jesus and alignment with Trinity’s Staff & Vestry Commitment
· Desire to worship God in an Anglican setting
· Ability to lead and play music with excellence
· Experience in leading a choir and working with other musicians
· Proficiency in piano and/or organ
· Appreciation of traditional and contemporary styles of worship music
· Reliable, detail-oriented, and responsive to feedback
· Knowledge of Anglican hymnody and liturgy preferred
