Description and Requirements
Lenovo is currently seeking a Sr. Manager - Marketing Governance to join the IDG Global Marketing Team and play a pivotal role in defining and deploying new business practices across the Lenovo marketing organization. In this role, you will spearhead the development and implementation of a robust Governance strategy focused on mitigating risks associated with our marketing budget to payment processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in aligning our marketing efforts with Lenovo’s overarching business objectives while safeguarding against potential financial, reputation, and operational risks. You will lead a team to assist in performing the key responsibilities.
Common Framework Development: Develop and implement a common Marketing Governance framework across the global Marketing organization, including identifying, assessing and prioritizing potential risks in our Marketing Budgeting to Payment Process.
Continuous Collaboration: Collaborate with cross functional teams and key stakeholders to review existing marketing processes, ensuring that they align with the governance objectives, and revise as required.
Consistent Reviews and Monitoring: Conduct risk assessments and review & analyze data to identify potential areas of risk. Monitoring trends and behavioral patterns across markets to identify potential problem areas
Comprehensive Reporting: Develop and maintain metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing governance and present appropriate, actionable and timely reports to Stakeholders & Leadership teams
Proactive Risk Management: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies through a robust governance process and create contingency plans to address potential risks
Reactive Response Mechanisms: Conduct regular reviews of marketing spend to ensure that marketing teams are operating within established governance framework
Alignment with Leadership & Audit Teams: Develop and maintain relationships with senior leaders and audit organization to ensure alignment and co-ordination on Marketing Governance
Training & Guidance: Provide training & guidance to Marketing on overall Governance, best practices and protocols
Continuous Improvement: Stay current and informed with evolving risks, trends and best practices to enable continuous process improvement and strategic decisions
Basic Qualification:
8 plus years’ marketing experience in a complex organization or in a strategic capacity in a agency.
Bachelor degree required
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience developing marketing guidelines and standards.
Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into branding strategy and to solve business problems creatively
Team leadership or management experience
Judgment on when flexibility is called for versus rigid standards
Strong communication, inter-personal and people skills
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
