OverviewTo ensure a positive and professional image and increase brand awareness of Honest Weight Food Co-op (HWFC) both in-house and within the community.

Job Responsibilities

Community Engagement & EducationEnsure that HWFC's mission and commitment to community engagement is at the forefront of branding and advertising effortsMaintain and grow HWFC community connections throughout the Capital Region, with a focus on like-minded organizations and non-profits in the food justice spaceIdentify and establish programs and initiatives that will increase shopping, participation, and representation at HWFC from shoppers who live within

Branding

Ensure that HWFC's branding reflects the interests and priorities of the diverse communities that co-op servesLead the further development of the HWFC brand identityReinforce our current HWFC brand identityEnsure HWFC brand standard compliance both in-store, within the Membership and within the communityGuide/Create promotional marketing materials for HWFCSales

Because financial success is foundational, the Marketing Manager's major responsibility is to generate revenue by increasing sales through successful marketing for the entire organization, using market research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications, advertising and public relations.Ensure the organization's message is articulated and distributed across channels and to targeted audiences in order to meet sales objectives.Apply marketing principles, branding, strategy, conceptual models (e.g. value proposition, Unique Selling Proposition, SWOT analysis, Blue Ocean)Prepare a marketing plan and articulate a marketing strategy.Articulate marketing return on investment and relationship to financial goals.Utilize market research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications, advertising and public relations.Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Actively pursue an Anti-Racist agenda in all aspects of HWFC branding, advertising, and marketing, and work collaboratively across the Mission-Based Team to ensure that principles of Anti-Racism and Inclusion are actively applied.Ensure inclusion and representation of BIPOC voices through all HWFC platforms; specifically through brand ambassadorships and digital/social media influence.Stay current in the DEI and Anti-Racism spheres, incorporating latest best practices in all HWFC branding, advertising, and marketing materials, particularly as they relate to substantive copywriting and program development.Marketing/Team Responsibilities

Provide monthly marketing report encompassing all Advertising goals and accomplishments by maintaining HWFC branding, print, and social for management reviewCreate an annual marketing plan including competitive analysis, budgeting, establishing goals and positioning.Hold a weekly marketing team meeting, comprised of marketing and mission-based teams, too Create events, classes, themes, programs, etco Identify marketing needso Assign responsibilitieso Develop timelines and deadlineso Plan, brainstorm and troubleshoot

Coordinate marketing efforts/standards by leading Marketing Team and working with our Operational teams and ensure store wide follow throughTrack and monitor marketing goals & promotions including ROI on campaigns AdvertisingMaintain, strengthen, guide HWFC brand positioning in all internal and external advertising/marketingCreate and maintain annual advertising/marketing budgetServe as point of contact for all advertising/marketing requestsInvestigate advertising/marketing leads and purchasing decisionsGuide and create visuals for all HWFC advertising/marketing including but not limited to: digital, social, print, web, radio, tv, etc.Track ROI on advertising/marketing initiativesManage sponsorship placement with the Community Relations SpecialistOnline/Digital Media

Work to maintain and improve our websiteOversee the creation of our HWFC social media plan and establish goalsOversee the weekly social schedule and delivery to departmentsEnsure our preload schedules social media and in-store screensMonitor online images, reviews, and responsesOversee HWFC email marketing programPR

Position Requirements

Extensive knowledge of advertising and marketing natural foods, regional products, food retailing trends and managing in-house creative and or marketing teamsExtensive knowledge of the Capital Region and its diverse communities, including knowledge of and/or interest in the local food justice spaceAwareness of and familiarity with successful implementation of Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles in advertising and marketing strategies and materials.5 years + ofo Ad purchasing experience
