ASCO is looking for a talented and high-performing Social Media Manager to join our Integrated Communications & Marketing Department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing ASCO's social media presence and strategy in support of key brand pillars and priorities through community engagement, influencer relations and content development to further the organization's reputation as a leader in the global oncology community.

Remote candidates welcome with a preference of a candidate residing in EST, or primary location in Alexandria, VA.

ResponsibilitiesManage strategy, operations, and community engagement for ASCO's social media accounts and accounts for ASCO's portfolio of scientific journals, including channel managementDevelop social media plans and recommendations to meet marketing campaign goals and objectivesEvolve ASCO's social media content strategy, including developing and testing new content typesCultivate influencer relationships through content collaborations, ASCO's Featured Voices program, and Social Media Working GroupPropose and launch new social media tactics and channels that suit ASCO objectives and drive growthManage ASCO social analytics and insights, including campaign and channel-level reportingCollaborate with Enterprise Communications team on issues monitoring and responseSupport ASCO social listening activitiesParticipate in social media training for leadership and volunteersRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field or equivalent years of experience4-5 years of digital marketing experience, including social media, across non-profits and digital marketing industriesStrong experience with social media management platforms, social listening software and analytics reportingDemonstrated versatility in writing styles, including social media posts and marketing copyExperience translating complex themes and topics into digestible social media contentExperience with organic and paid social mediaAbility to work occasional nights and weekends as neededPreferred Education and ExperienceExperience in healthcare, life sciences, or biotechnologyCompetenciesAbility to produce high quality deliverables throughout the project cycle from planning, management, implementation, to troubleshootingProven relationship-building skills; ability to interact with executive staff and physician volunteersExcellent communication skills, including written, and the ability to draft, edit, and proofreadStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgmentSelf-managed with proven skills to use initiative and be proactive to deliver resultsExcellent organizational skills and high attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and multi-taskADA/Physical RequirementsExtended periods seated or standing at a deskHigh use of computer and other office technology equipmentTravel7-10 days annuallyGenerous Benefits Package:Hybrid Work EnvironmentOpen Leave PolicyPaid Family Leave13 Paid Holidays per Calendar YearStaff Appreciation Days401(k): 7.5% Employer ContributionMedical/Dental/VisionEmployee Assistance ProgramFertility and Family FormingHealthcare ConciergeFlexible Spending Account(s)Healthcare Savings AccountDisability and Life InsuranceThe American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
