(Classes held Thursday afternoons, 3:30-6:00pm with rehearsals and shows on November 11-12.)+ Assist with instruction and be a contributing member of directing the team (assisting the co-teachers as needed).+ Help coordinate various backstage projects, such as set design and construction, stage properties, costuming, maintenance and storage, technical elements, etc.+ Attend production meetings as assigned.+ Ensure effective communication is occurring between students, directors, and the Covey Center Education Department.+ Take roll call, keep the team schedule, and other paperwork as assigned.+ Maintain safe practices are followed for all MDT events.What do I need to apply?+ Experience in theater.+ Experience teaching kids/teens, classroom management.+ Ability to stay organized, strictly adhere to a schedule, and communicate effectively.+ Directing and stage-managing experience is a plus!What are the hours?Thursdays 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with 2 show days in November (TBD).What are the physical and environmental factors?This position involves walking, bending, and standing in place for extended periods of time. This position may also include exposure to high stress situations or environments, including; handling emergency situations, meeting strict deadlines, contact with individuals in confrontational or uncomfortable circumstances, and other stressful conditions related to the workplace.What is the selection process?This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days). Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
