The Editorial & Digital Manager oversees the development and delivery of NPTA’S editorial and promotional content. They review internal and external communications content ensuring it is consistent with the association’s style guide, and advances mission, strategic vision and organizational goals.The manager oversees project management and promotion for the association’s Our Children online magazine, social media content, How We PTA storytelling initiative, the annual report, and the editorial style guide. They write scripts and speeches for National PTA events and senior leaders and will manage freelance writers, social media consultants, vendors and contractors.Salary:

$78,000 per year with consideration for additional experience & skills.THE ROLEManage the publishing and promotion of Our Children Online Magazine:Manages the annual budget for the Our Children online magazine and other editorial projects.Manages an editorial calendar.Coordinates with magazine managing editor and contributors/freelancers.Manages translation and posting of articles; tracks metrics.Researches, interviews, writes and edits content.Tracks/fulfills advertising commitments; tracking metrics.Develops strategies to elevate readership and responds to reader inquiries.Writes and disseminates monthly newsletters.Manage and implement How We PTA storytelling initiative:Meets metrics and engagement goals for sponsored/funded work.Manages consultants.Develops a plan for stories to share across PTA channels.Trains staff, volunteers and grantees.Lead the development and implementation of social media strategies and communications plans:Leads the strategy for social media assets, including Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok and Discord.Manages the writing and editing of social media copy.Liaises with social media partners and meets deliverables for funded work.Works with consultants to develop ads and manage budgets for various campaigns.Monitors, analyzes and reports.Reviews e-newsletters and e-blasts.Write and execute the scripts and run of show for National PTA events:Speechwriting for National PTA’s president, president-elect, and executive director.Writes and revises scripts and run of show for PTA events.Leads script review with event teams and leadership.Manages rehearsals and recordings and onsite sessions/events with leadership.Manage and produce National PTA’s annual report:Develops a creative brief and content outline in collaboration with executive and volunteer leadership.Researches, writes and edits content.Manages design, production and dissemination.Additional Duties:Follows the Communications Team process and workflow for projects and tasks.Manages the regular review and update of the association’s style guide.Contributes to the development and execution of communications plans.Identifies, communicates, and aligns work to PTA DEI values and commitments to move the mission forward.Position Requirements:IDEAL CANDIDATE:Writing and Communications:

Superior writing and editing skills. Excellent interviewing and research skills. Proficient in AP writing style and familiar with education, health, parenting and/or advocacy-related topics and concepts.Digital Publishing:

Mastery of social media platforms and scheduling tools. Working experience with HTML and content management systems and desktop publishing software.Project Management:

Ability to manage a project from concept to completion on deadline, within budget and on strategy. Knowledge on how to set a production schedule and coordinate with project colleagues and vendors to ensure the project is on track. Advanced skills in Office 365 /Google Drive / WordPress.Teamwork:

A strong team player who can collaborate with staff, volunteers, sponsors and partner organizations, with a flexible and solutions-oriented approach to projects and tasks. Experience working with executives and leadership volunteers and a proven record of developing relationships at all levels of an organization.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing or related field is required.7-10 years of professional experience as a writer or editor.Experience managing online publications.Experience managing vendors and consultants.WORKING CONDITIONS:Professional office environment and remotely, currently in a hybrid structure. Core office hours are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with occasional evenings and weekends for special programs and/or events; some travel may be required.Full-Time/Part-Time:
