The Online Learning team within the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning is seeking a Communications & Marketing Specialist II to support the university's online programs. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications & Marketing, the Communications & Marketing Specialist II provides strategic and tactical marketing, advertising and communications support for the Online Learning unit and the online programs the unit serves by developing and executing marketing plans and strategies, coordinating promotional campaigns, and coordinating program-related marketing tasks and projects. The Communications and Marketing Specialist II will manage and coordinate multiple marketing accounts across eight different UofL colleges, develop and execute content (written and video) strategies, write copy for various channels of online and offline marketing campaigns, and research and apply best practices and trends in various industries to optimize content and campaigns. The person filling this position will coordinate internal and external marketing and promotions, perform website content creation and optimization using SEO tools and insights, and provide communications support to online programs. This individual will perform research for market trends, competitors and benchmarking, and develop and apply best practices for continuous process improvement. This individual will promote recruiting events to generate interest and engage qualified online students. Lastly, the Communications & Marketing Specialist II will also track data and measure the effectiveness of the marketing plans and advertising campaigns using marketing data to produce performance reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Coordinate marketing projects with the internal team, academic units and outsource partners, including content creation (written and visual/video) and promotion, ad copy writing and design, social media, program launch and web development. Provide strategic and tactical support to Online Learning team, leadership and partners on special projects. Develop, document and refine processes for project coordination to maximize efficiencies.

Develop and implement marketing and recruiting strategies to promote programs through online and off-line channels, collaborating with Online Learning team, management and academic units. Ensure that specific audiences are targeted accurately and effectively to maximize return on investment (ROI).

Develop and maintain online programs' web presence (website, minisites, social networks, blog, etc.) to provide relevant content and engage prospective students. Optimize website content using SEO tools and best practices, improve messaging and branding to maximize visibility of online programs and generate qualified interest.

Conduct market research for programs, competitors, promotions opportunities, best practices and industry trends. Use campaign performance data, industry statistics and trends, to evaluate return on investment (ROI) and work with manager and Online Learning team to improve performance. Produce and share reports and insights with Online Learning team, leadership and partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in higher education and/or online learning marketing

Excellent copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills

Experience in content development and media strategy

Working knowledge of account and project management

Effective oral and written communicator

Ability to work with various teams, stakeholders, and vendors

Experience in digital marketing

Experience in advertising, communications, and public relations

Skilled in marketing analytics, optimization and reporting

Work Hours and Location

This is a full-time position with a 37.5 hr regular workweek. This position's team is based at the Belknap Campus. Remote/hybrid work may be considered with business needs and the primary candidate's location in mind.
