Music Teacher Canterbury Elementary & Belmont Middle School
Description: Shaker Regional School District is seeking a music teacher to complete instruction in Belmont Middle School and Canterbury Elementary School in the following:
- K-7 General Music
- 3rd - 6th Grade Chorus
- 4th & 5th Grade Beginning Band
- Instrumental Lessons
Must hold NHDOE Certification or Statement of Eligibility in Music Education (1200).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create written instructional objectives for the course and for units in the course.
- Establish appropriate instructional goals and objectives for the class that are consistent with the school curriculum.
- Correlate learning activities with instructional objectives.
- Effectively integrate appropriate technology.
- Prepare and maintain written plans and modify them as necessary.
- Implement a behavior management program for students, assisting students in learning and demonstrating responsible behavior.
- Respect confidentiality.
- Submit progress reports on each student in the formal education program with recommendations as to further development.
- Review and purchase appropriate instructional materials to meet individual needs to support curriculum.
- Utilize homework as a tool for the reinforcement of classroom instruction.
- Supervise or assist in field trips, recreational and other extracurricular programs for the benefit of the students.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and School Board Policies.
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to school committee and work groups.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with teachers, agency personnel, students, parents, and the public.
- Knowledge of basic education techniques and methods.
- Ability to work with all students, including those who possess educational disabilities.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to students' individual learning styles.
- Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities.
