Description:
The Design Technician will provide design support for the transmission pipeline engineering department utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
Responsibilities include the identification of system materials and their application, engaging in planning and research.
Providing field design and support for utility systems; adherence to standard work processes; and the application of industry standards.
The Design Technician will be expected to design a variety of projects complexities ranging from standard to complex, and frequently coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and leadership to ensure compliance and effective management of project tasks.
The designs this person provide need to be safe, ergonomic, and practical.
Qualifications:
Associates degree in the requisite scientific or technical field.
Significant years of relevant design experience may be considered in lieu of a technical degree.
Design technician must have advanced computer and application knowledge.
Communication and organizational skills are important for this role.
Clear and precise drawings are needed to effectively convey the designs to the operational and construction groups.
Drafting experience utilizing MicroStation (preferred), AutoCAD, or similar.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
