Credence has an upcoming need for a Chief Communication's Officer who will lead and manage Biomedical and Healthcare communication strategies, ensuring alignment with the agency’s mission to advance scientific knowledge and public health. This role involves overseeing internal and external communications, public relations, and media interactions to effectively convey federal initiatives and research outcomes to diverse audiences, including policymakers, scientists, healthcare professionals, and the public. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communication Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that promote federal agency mission, research advancements, and public health initiatives. Media Relations: Serve as the primary spokesperson, fostering relationships with media outlets to ensure accurate and widespread coverage of the agency's work. Content Development: Oversee the creation of press releases, speeches, reports, and digital content that effectively communicate complex scientific information to the public and key stakeholders. Crisis Communication: Lead communication response during public health emergencies, ensuring timely and transparent dissemination of critical information. Stakeholder Engagement:
Coordinate with federal agencies, Congress, the White House, and other government institutions to support agency initiatives and maintain intergovernmental collaboration. Engage with the Senate, House committees, and other policymakers to effectively communicate the research priorities and policy recommendations. Foster partnerships with scientific and public health organizations, advocacy groups, and international health agencies to enhance global impact.
Internal Communications: Ensure clear, consistent, and effective communication to strengthen employee engagement and alignment with agency goals. Education, Requirements and Qualifications
Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a government health agency, research institution, or similar organization. Skills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Expertise in digital media platforms and emerging communication technologies. Demonstrated experience in crisis communication management. Strong ability to simplify and convey complex scientific and public health information to broad audiences. Experience engaging with policymakers and federal agencies on health-related communications.
Preferred: A strong understanding of biomedical research, public health policies, and the operational dynamics of federal health agencies.
